there's a free bmc pdf guide on the internet which seems good. Fair few low/mid V grades around North Gardoms.

Does the return of the minibus mean more renditions of Any Old Iron?

I think I could well be tempted. how far is it from birchen?
I know a few people who might be up for some bouldering, but need to find some pads

As you pass my competency test, you can come. :) Don't need another driver at the moment as we now have a minibus but I'll put you down as a reserve.

As we may be slightly swarming birchen with 45 people already, going somewhere else for some bouldering might not be a bad shout but I'll leave it up to you guys.

Just putting it out there, would anyone else like to go bouldering? The more competent people we can have leading at Birchen, the better really but if some of the less experienced people could go bouldering that might make things a bit easier.

Not sure takin loads of novices bouldering when we have barely any mats is a good idea. Surely it would be easier to take some people to gardoms if you need more space and could set up top ropes if there arent enough leaders

... the whole crag is bouldering, not a trad route in sight :P

The only thing I remember of Gardoms trip in my first year is the colour green, something to do with the rock being that colour. Its a bit of a fantasy place tho, kinda feels like a fairytale woods... with a crag up one side.

Never been to gardoms but the froggat to black ocks book says there is trad there.
And the club says it is trad...although that could be controversial

... I'm sure birchen really should be a bouldering crag, all those 6m routes there isn't a real trad route in sight :P

Rach, just so I know what's going on and I don't lose too many leaders, who has expressed an interest in bouldering to you?

Also, wasn't intending on putting loads of novices bouldering but was thinking if you potentially take 2 or 3 who are interested and then that might make things a bit easier for us that's all.
