I think the heat in Font is what we go for, gives us an excuse to laze around a bit, not feel too guilty about not beasting and is a welcome change from chilly wet weekends in the Peaks or Lakes!!

I'm psyched for Font :D

I agree with Katie. Font in heat is good, fabulous excuse for sun bathing.

I also agree with Jake. Wearing sun cream is of the utmost importance.

I also agree with Rachel, but there are always thunder storms in the mountains, and Alps thunderstorms are the best things ever.

Jordan, this is maltloaf right...? YES to the north. Cycling too?? :-) I'm considering the White Rose Classic, road event on 17 June.

And Roxy, I just love you.

And I hate the library.

And yeah, if someone could summarise this thread, that would be wonderful (and then plan us a wonderful summer climbing trip too, preferably). Leave out any comments about gritstone, and just all of Jake's comments in general. Ta. Xx

YES. Oooh when is graduation?? My idea was GOING to be, that we could roll it into one, so those who want to just stay on after Pembroke, travel down to the South coast maybe taking in some on the way, and then head over to font early July?? (but does graduation get in the way of that??)
The further afield later on in summer/September?

Ok I've made a calendar that everyone should be able to see if you click...
...HERE!

At the moment it's full of rubbish but we should be able to use it to keep track of what's going down and when :-)

For you to be able to edit it I need to approve you or something so send me a message with your email address in and allegedly I'll be able to do that. You'll probably need to sign up to Google but its really quick and you can use your current email address.

Get your trips on there!

WOOO :afro:

I don't think you can change anything on it without being "allowed" by Google. If you message me your email I'll make it so :D

Pembroke - have the dates been confirmed? Need to get time off.
High Altitude skiing in South America - Yes, when, where?, How do I convince people to let me go? :)
Font - Too Bloody Hot - even I know that one :/
Alps/Dolomites/Chamonix - Based on last year Ailefroide (Ecrin Range) was fun for 'Alpine Newbies on a Budget' - Great range, should be enough easy routes. It's worth looking into as alternative to the pricey Chamonix area.

Great set of ideas! :) Re a South America Trip, if your going that far, you'd want at least 3-weeks or more. If its a definite consideration, could somebody drop me a Facebook message/text? :)
I'd be cool to bounce some ideas around about planning a trip there. Ive been to Ecuador, but its more of the Andes (Patagonia I'd love to visit!)

EuroTrip Part Trois would be cool. I'm happy to be a backup driver. (I'll keep you posted if I get my own wheels!) - Somebody drop me a text on that one as well. :)

Re South America, I'm not sure it'll work out for this summer, i was thinking more of the next one. I don't think we have enough time to research everything properly and certain grants would require more than a year to get. there are also a fair number of skillz we'd need to learn, like skiing roped up etc...

But i think it would be an amazing thing to do! I'll have a chat about it with you some time.

This summer i would probably be most interested in the alps! I need to work on my glacier skills!
