What? The Wurzels Live! (if you havnt heard of them they are pretty much the Beatles of the west country)
When? Friday 13th June (The day after Pembroke officially finishes)
Where? The Hogshead Pub, Abergaveny (north of Cardiff)
How much? £20 including a hog roast!

This is going to be a great night! The Wurzels are a band from Somerset which are just class, have you heard of the Combine Harvester song or The Blackbird? (You may have heard a drunk Tom Murray singing it!) That was them! It will be a great atmosphere, lots of nice food, proper west country cider and music!

Need to know if you want to go asap because we need to get tickets

Come on people. I cannot describe to you in words how great the Wurzels are live.

I saw 'em on stage once, back in 2004: they were amazing, the cider was amazing, the hole in my memory is amazing..

These legends are the band behind such classic albums as 'Never Get A Scrumpy Here' 'Top of the Crops' and 'Neverrmind the Bullocks, Ere's The Wurzels.'

Here's one of their more famous numbers to whet your appetite, from a day when they were more sprightly:

Bad news everyone...........I have a 3am flight to the USA on the same night as the wurzels making it impossible for me to be there (if it were posible to go strait to the airport I would!) Neil I am looking at other dates and have even looked into private bookings (really expensive) but I wont be able to make this one :( ull have to take some video 4 me!

Classic lines from the wurzels:
when talking about their car "I've done 80 in this one........you can be number 81!"
when trying to chat up a lady "I've got a brand new combine harvester I'll give you the key"
when it all goes right "I grabbed her by the gerainiums, she yelled out with delight!"
when they do a cover "OOOO ARHHH just a little bit, OOOO ARHHH a little bit more!"

They are just class

God damn that fact that I am missing this. Dont worry though, if we keep our eyes open they actually play fairly regularly. I'm sure we can track them down, hire a minibus and have a classic evening. Highly recommeded. (I'm going to buy the Greatest Hits CD for Pembroke, so if we can find some straw bales we can recreate this amazing evening in our very own campsite.)

OK Mark I'll take the difficult items, you be in charge of straw bales. Easy.

Also, make that minibus trip happen, I'll forgo cider and drive if needs be, it could be magical.
