It's a little late this year, but as is tradition here is the aims thread for 2012!

This is the place to record all of your dreams and aspirations for the coming year, whether they're climbing or none climbing related.

Perhaps like Byron you want to tick an 8A or like Neil you want to solve a cryptic cross word, and not kill anyone this year, or maybe like Sam you just want to make it onto the Israeli bobsleigh team.

Here goes.

I want to do more:
Sport routes than in 2007
Alpine routes than in 2007
Trad routes than in 2008
Winter routes than in 2010
Boulder problems than in 2011

Dyno my way onto the top ascents page of ukc (so probably boulder 7C),
Get in shape for font which is 8 weeks away. (and so shag at least 3 Font 7's there)
Stop finding potential new routes and actually shag some of them.
Be able to do 10 pull ups in a row.
Buy new solutions.

I want to actually start climbing again so after 4th year research project and committee is done by the end of 2012 I want to have:

Climbed in more than 5 countries
Trad E2
Sport 7a
More DWS (specifically have done Rainbow Bridge at Berry Head)
Get over my dislike/fear of grit
Done some more Winter than this Scotland (so something)

I don't normally like to post my aims because I generally fail at most of them, but maybe this will MAKE me suceed with them all!

By next year, I aim to:

- Buy ski touring ski's and go on a proper ski tour!
- shag Berlin's Fallen (Nesscliffe) - I really can't let another year go by still only one move from the end!
- Finish knitting Tom's jumper (by Font in April)
- Be able to boulder (some) V5's (outdoors of course)

Then theres the generic ones like: do more winter, bouldering, trad etc.etc.

Marathon (or training for London marathon)
some M & more W
E4 (E5 would be even better...)

obviously continue to avoid sport that's not multipitch and keep bouldering to a minimum (unless high ball or in font)

Uphold my place as token Northerner.
Continue to convince freshers I was in a soreen advert.
Comfortably shag VS.
Get better at slacklining.
Do some alpine routes in summer.

Get into ski mountaineering! [anybody up for a spot of this sometime 2012!? - you may have to teach me!]
Start work on ticking off the requirements for the BMG.
Either get more money, or spend less so My Income is > My Expenditure!

... Find a flat in London!

Oh & did I mention learn how to shag again!?
