AMAZING spelling of caribena there (is this even how you spell that word?!). belay plates are hard to come by in our wee cupboard of gear. but a harness and caribena = no problemos. And you can pick up belay plates for relatively cheap, or why not put it on your letter to Father Christmas?! Yay to the festive season!

If you get one you can pick up a krab with it relatively cheap. Worthwhile getting them as a pair as one is pretty useless without the other.

Can we please make sure in Scotland we have the longest ropes possible.....i.e. not the massively cut down one(s). And that we generally know the lengths of the ropes we are taking.

i would suggest checking that any doubles that are used as the same length as one another as well!

That would be very useful, was given a 37 metre static rope for abseiling into crags in Pembroke not so long ago, was quite annoying

This should be done by each and every person who uses club gear. Not only are checking what you have is what you expect, but you are also checking it is safe to use and that the person to use it before you has not damaged it and not told anyone.
