This is it! Our big winter mountaineering trip!

Would you like to be a part of Scotland 2008/2009?

Leaving on the 28th of december 2008 and returning on the 4th of january 2009 we will be taking a trip up to the Cairngorms in Eastern Scotland for 6 days of winter mountaineering.

Thanks to the amazing Phil Vincent we will still be able to run the winter skills course this year so if you have never mountaineered before then you have this amazing opportunity to learn all you need to know at a subsidised price from some ace instructors

The trip will cost around:

£190 for people on the course
£125 for people who have mountaineered before

This is the final price

This price includes your journey, accomodation and the use of our gear. HOWEVER WE AS A CLUB DO NOT HAVE PERSONAL GEAR SUCH AS BOOTS AND WATERPROOFS TO LEND (although there may be kindly members of the club who may be able to help you out there!) so please take this into account when looking at your finances. If you need any help with knowledge of such things I am more than happy to help, and we will take a trip into town to help you buy gear at a time in the near future.

On the trip:

Neil Mackie (PAID)
James Cross (PAID)
Tommy B (PAID)
Alice Janes (PAID)
Helen Dale (PAID)
MILF-Hunter Halperin (PAID)
Fran Shatwell (PAID)
James Brewer (PAID)
Starley T
maltloaf Goodman (PAID)

WE WILL BE MEETING AT THE MUNROW CENTRE AT 8am ON 28TH DECEMBER

Love alice (07980190851)

Scotland, wooo :-)

I am hoping to go but need to check dates, as it leaves on my Birthday and I don't know my plans yet.

If anyone has any questions, do ask - its a great trip to get involved with.

I've got a pair of B2 boots size 9 1/2 if anyone wants to borrow them. Or just have them.

I can't go this year as have finals to revise for, but would really recommend this if winter mountaineering is anything that has ever flashed across your mind before - this is the BEST way to get into it (as in cheapest) if you would ever like to try this in the future.

I have some gear I can lend out to any girls who are worried about the costs - size 6 B2 boots and a range of clothing.

I know it seems really expensive to start having to buy all the gear when you don't even know if you will like it but a) you will LOVE it and b) the kit will last years and proper clothing will be ultra useful for all climbing trips in the future.

Scotland is obviously going to be amazing. Here's why:

1) winter mountaineering is NAILS.
2) Everyone looks good in a balaclava.
3) I'm going.
4) You get to use axes.
5) If you don't want to shag, you can walk (or build snowmen)
6) If you don't want to walk, you can dance and drink.
7) You get to shag stuff like this:

The list goes on.....

Its also kind of important to the club for enough people to go on this trip, else we can't run it in the future, and like Tommy's dad said £190 for a 2 day guided course and a weeks transport and accomodation is far more than bargain.

Use your calculators if you don't believe me.

Do it people!

For the record, I would be there like a shot, however, unfortunately a little thing called a job in the Canary Islands prevents me from doing so.
I was looking forwards to making 5 scotlands without doing a shag above grade II.
