Hey all,
On the 1st June, we will be running a training course for new committee members called Ropeworks. This covers the basics of gear placement and setting up safe belays.
For anyone interested in learning to lead outdoors, this course is the ideal starting point. It would also help tidy up the skills of anyone who has done some outdoor leading but is unsure of gear placements/set ups and would like some refinement. However, it is not necessary to have done any prior trad leading to do this course.
There are currently three places available, and the course will cost £35. For the knowledge you will gain, this is really a great value course. The Summer Trip (info coming soon!) will be the following week, where you'll be able to start putting these skills into practice.
If you're interested or have any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Sam
