So after being told 6-8 weeks before money would go into my account from application I rang them up after 10 weeks (and still no money)

'sorry, we haven't actually assessed your application yet'

So they say they're going to bother to assess it now, then post me some stuff to sign (or rather for my mother to sign my signiture onto) in 7-10 working days, then when they get that back they'll think about giving me some money.

So probably about another 3 weeks then.

jaq i had the same shit as this. id double check that they actually need to send this form out to you sign as i was told that this was something i needed to do too... but it turned out i didnt need the form! ended up just phong the right person, getting them to send me a new application form and then i got the loan the next week (this was also after loads of waiting around last term!) i only just got mine. tell them you desperatly need the money etc, ive found them to be really helpfull the last 3 years when mines got fucked up everytime!

also, for my problem i just did it all through my local council as student finace just messed me about! dunno if its the same problem your having, but i was also meant to get a form signed by my parents, but when i took it tot he finance office they said this uni didnt do it like that!

It's not actually student finance direct that are messing me around - it's my local LEA, who just haven't done anything with my form since recieving it over 2 months ago

I'm just gonna get my mum to sign the form with my name on it, I can't see it mattering that much.

I tried argueing that I needed the money, but student finance said they couldn't do anything as they where still waiting for my form back from my LEA who hadn't approved it yet, my LEA just really didn't care and made out they where doing me a massive favour by saying they'd look at it that afternoon despite the fact they should have done it weeks ago, and still said it'd be weeks before anything comes through.

Grrrrr. Very glad I worked over the holiday now!
